According to Deadline, the series is based on a non-fiction book of the same name by Erik Larson.
Released in 2003, the book tells the true story of famous architect Daniel H. Burnham and serial killer Henry H. Holmes, who both had an impact on The 1893 Chicago World’s Fair.
Their impact is in stark contrast in the book—Burnham’s trying to change people’s perception of the city of Chicago by building the fair, while Holmes destroyed it by killing a number of women in the city.
If Reeves finally decides to play in this big-budget series, he will portray either Burnham or Holmes.
Meanwhile, actor Leonardo DiCaprio joins behind the scenes as an executive producer along with Martin Scorsese, Rick Yorn, Sam Shaw, Jennifer Davisson, and Stacey Sher.
DiCaprio bought the rights for The Devil in the White City back in 2010, and it’s originally going to be a movie with Martin Scorsese on board to direct. However, in 2019 the plan changed, and now, it’s switching to a TV Series on Hulu.
