505 Games and Rabbit & Bear Studios have now confirmed that they will be releasing a new game called Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising on Nintendo Switch this week.
A fast-paced 2.5D Action RPG game with city upgrade elements, which serves as a companion prequel to the upcoming Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, with game development led by Suikoden co-creators Yoshitaka Murayama and NatsumeAtari.
After a major earthquake struck, digging the Runebarrows beneath a town on the remote frontier of Allraan known as New Nevaeh, adventurers and traders seeking fortune from all over the world arrived. Among them are the three ill-fated heroes, the honorable scavenger CJ, the mercenary Beastman Garoo and the young deputy mayor Isha, two of whom want to mine the Rune Lens, and the others wanting nothing more than to rebuild the city.
Players will be able to switch between each character during battle, sprinting to attack with an ax is CJ’s skill, magic from a safe distance is Isha’s skill or punishing enemies with Garoo’s giant sword. To overthrow enemies during the game, players can perform Combo Attacks that combine the specialties of each hero.
The dungeons players take in will provide various rewards with materials that can be used to restore New Neveah to its former glory, giving players many benefits that will apply to Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes upon release. The crossover content includes specialty cosmetic items, valuable equipment, and merchandise.
Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising will release digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on May 10, 2022, priced at £12.99 ($14.99).
